  • If there is a holiday on Thursday, all option contracts expire on the previous trading day.

  • Some researches suggest that the trading activity usually stays at peak on Fridays or prior to a long weekend.
  • Clearing holiday- When the market is open but the banks are closed, it is known as settlement or a clearing holiday in the stock market. Therefore, No settlement takes place on this day but happens on the next trading day.
