Zerodha is the discount broker, charging zero brokerage for delivery trading, but how much Zerodha charges for intraday?

If you are an active intraday trader looking for intraday trading charges in Zerodha then here is the detail of the intraday brokerage and other associated fees charged by the broker.

Zerodha Intraday Charges

As per the discount brokerage model of Zerodha, you need to pay 0.03% or ₹20 per order whichever is lower.

Let’s clear this with an example,

Suppose you did intraday trading in the stock of RPower. You bought 100 stocks at ₹598 each and sold them at ₹605 each.

Here to calculate the minimum brokerage, it is important to first calculate the turnover value.

Number of Shares = 100
Buy Price = ₹598
Total = (598*100)
=₹59800

Number of Shares = 100
Sell Price = ₹605
Total = (605*100)
=₹60500

Total Turnover= ₹120,300

Brokerage= 0.03%*120300
=₹36.09

Now the flat brokerage is charged each side i.e. ₹20/- order. Hence the total brokerage would be ₹40. Hence for the above trade, you need to pay ₹36.09 as brokerage fees.

However, if the turnover value is let’s say ₹160,000 then the minimum brokerage would be:

=0.03%*160000
=₹48

Here the broker will charge you the flat fees of ₹20 on each side for the trade.

Now, this is all about the brokerage charged by Zerodha for intraday trading. Apart from this, there are certain taxes that need to be paid along with the brokerage.

This includes, STT, GST, Transaction charges etc, the details of which is provided in the table below:

Doesn’t it seem to be confusing? It is often difficult for beginners to evaluate the total brokerage and the profit and loss using the information provided above.

To make it simpler, you can use the Zerodha brokerage calculator that helps you in calculating the total cost digitally and also gives you the information of profit and loss statement.
